The JAM is a competitive Mite Tournament, held January 24-26, 2020.
Only local teams will play games on Friday, January 24th.
The Divisions follow USA Hockey’s Red (Advanced), White (Intermediate) and Blue (Novice) classifications, with additional brackets added to reflect participating teams competitive experience!The brackets include:
Blue Minor – True, first-year/beginners (Novice)
Blue Major – First and second year Blue players not at White skill level
White – True White (Intermediate) level players
Pink – Top White teams in large organizations with players who might be on Red teams in smaller organizations, or top White team when organization does not have a Red team and has Red level players on the White roster
Red – True Red (Advanced) level teams
Premier – Tournament teams, Red teams with majority/all 2011’s, top Red teams looking for best competitionAll games will be played using hard boards, making mini cross ice and half ice rinks!
All games will be played with intermediate nets; teams will play 4-on-4, plus a goalie.White and Blue teams will play 30 minute cross ice games. Buzzer sounds to indicate line changes.
Pink, Red and Premier teams will play 36 minute half ice games. Teams change ‘on the fly.The fees are $695 per team for half ice (Advanced) and $595 for cross ice (Intermediate and Novice).
The event is held just north of Pittsburgh in Cranberry Township at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex, practice home of the Pittsburgh Penguins! -
