Basic Hockey Camp
This program is designed for the player who is either new to hockey or has little hockey experience – 1 to 2 years or less. The program is designed to develop his/her overall skills. This program has been very popular with our younger participants (5 to 8 years). It is designed and delivered by qualified adult instructors trained to work with this age group. 2 hours of daily on-ice training.
Emphasis is on skill acquisition and improvement. All basic hockey skills will be covered with particular emphasis on balance and control. Off-ice sessions deal with age appropriate activities that emphasize fun and whole body development. Activities such as field hockey, lacrosse, etc. will be played to highlight team concepts
Class sessions will round out off-ice activities and will focus on such topics as how to get dressed, how to tie skates, etc. Program operates between 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Teaching ratio 1:6 (ratio may vary slightly on a per ice session basis)
