SNIPERS PROGRAM – BOY’S AND GIRL’S – KELOWNA
PROGRAM FEATURES:
July 13 – 17, 2020
Ages 8 – 12
15 hours on-ice Monday to Friday
3 hours on-ice daily
1.5 hours morning & 1.5 hours afternoonPower Skating:
- emphasis on all aspects of skating – forward stride, backwards, agility, crossovers, stops, quick turns, power stride, mohawk turns, explosive starts
- parachute and resistance cords training
Shooting:- shooting technique – utilizing lead pucks, control boards, golf balls and various innovative tools to enhance shooting technique and velocity
- Shooting – wrist, backhand, snap/slap, top-shelf, deking
- target shooting including developing a one timer
- deciding when to shoot and when to deke
- quick release emphasized
Sticking Handling:- develop stick fakes and quick stick manoeuvres
- learn to protect the puck & be deceptive
- develop feet as part of puck control
- learn curl and drag skill with stick
- learn the power of peripheral vision
- use CHE-patented stickmen for developing high level deking
- develop stick handling while skating backwards and while pivoting
- stick handling – small game orientated stations with emphasis on keeping the puck tight in confined areas
- 3-on-3 “Pond-Style” scrimmage will take place on each day
- 1 hour daily off-ice training with stick handling and shooting
- 1 hour daily recreation includes soccer, ball hockey, lacrosse, basketball and baseball
- daily lectures including “Sports Concussion” lecture/video
- daily lunch and offical hockey camp jersey included
- groups will be limited to 34 skaters and 4 goalies
- goalie instruction – coach/goalie ratio 1:4
- 6 instructors on-ice
2020 Cost: $445.00 CDN funds plus G.S.T (5%)
